The School of Culinary Arts Celebrity Chef Stage Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 10:15 a.m. –
Opening Ceremony 11 a.m. – Chef Bob Genet, The School of Culinary Arts Thanksgiving 101 Chef Genet will demonstrate a Thanksgiving dish sure to please the whole family. It’s Thanksgiving 101 for this year’s holiday host or hostess.
Noon – The Baklava Goddess Medicinal Herbs Learn about herbs, teas and spices that treat and relieve pain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis and many common ailments that are usually treated with pharmaceuticals.
1 p.m. – Sing Like the Dickens Carolers Strolling Carolers Join these talented singers as they treat the crowd to holiday favorites. They will begin on the stage and continue to stroll through the show entertaining young and old alike.
2 p.m. – Patty Hegberg Treasured Times Parents and children can join Patty Hegberg to learn some fun food facts, take virtual tours of food-related locations, participate in interactive culinary demonstrations, sample some snacks and take home a recipe or two to try.
3 p.m. – Chef Mark Pawlowski, The Yorktowne Hotel Panko-Crusted Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes Chef Mark Pawlowski will be preparing Panko-Crusted Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, the signature dish at the OffCenter Grill located at The Yorktowne Hotel. Mixed greens and lemon caper aioli will accompany the crab cakes, creating a beautiful and impressive meal.
4 p.m. – Chef Zaldivar, The School of Culinary Arts Holiday Garde Manger Chef Zaldivar will prepare tasty decorative holiday dishes.
Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 1 p.m. – Chefs Lisa Ridenour and Jamie Good, The School of Culinary Arts Holiday Cookies Join Chef Ridenour and Chef Good as they demonstrate holiday cookie recipes from Chef Ridenour’s recently published cookbook, “A Cookie In Each Hand”.
2 p.m. – Denise Gilliland, DelGrosso Foods Sunday Dinner All members of the DelGrosso family keep their culinary tradition alive by having a special Sunday dinner where many generations are cooking in the kitchen. Join Denise Gilliland and her 12-year-old daughter Elizabeth as they present a typical Sunday dinner with the DelGrosso family.
3 p.m. – The School of Culinary Arts International Holiday Dessert Pastry Chefs will demonstrate an international holiday dessert straight from the school’s Culinary Arts Center Restaurant. Theatre Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 11 a.m. –Maureen Lavin, Daily's Cocktail Mix/American Beverage Corp. Drink Mixing with Daily’s Cocktail Mix Maureen Lavin will demonstrate how to make your favorite beverages using Daily’s Cocktail Mix.
Noon –Laurie Forster The Wine Coach© Join Laurie Forster and enjoy a unique, fun and attitude-free presentation that will help you demystify wine, one glass at a time. She will also discuss her newly released book, “The Sipping Point: A Crash Course in Wine.” Don’t miss this chance to learn about wine from The Wine Coach© herself.
1 p.m. – Dick Naylor, Naylor Wine Cellars Health Benefits of Wine Join Dick Naylor for a wine tasting and the opportunity to learn about the many health benefits to drinking wine in moderation.
2 p.m. – John Fernandez, Anheuser-Busch Brewmaster Quality Beer Tasting with an Expert Enjoy a tasting journey featuring the Michelob Brewing Company family of fine beers with John Fernandez. Learn the different brewing processes and ingredients unique to each brand. Don’t miss this quality beer tasting with an expert – questions are welcomed and encouraged!
3 p.m. – The School of Culinary Arts Healthful Holiday Alternatives Learn about healthful alternatives for the holidays that taste great and won’t break the budget.
4 p.m. – George Teese, Anheuser-Busch Brewmaster Specialty and Seasonal Beers Discover quality beer tasting with an expert! George Teese will walk you through a tasting of specialty and seasonal beers, emphasizing their differences and nuances. Bring your palate and an open mind. Questions are welcomed and encouraged!
