9:40 a.m. – Lindsey Erin

A recent graduate of Dallastown High School, contemporary country singer Lindsey Erin has performed at several events around the area including the York Fair. Come kick off the Women’s Show’s fantastic entertainment line-up at the M&T Bank Stage with this great up-and-coming talent as she sings several songs from her upcoming debut album!

 

10 a.m. – Awards Ceremony

The Awards Ceremony begins with a check presentation to the 2011 Women’s Show charity, P.I.N.K. Partners, and is followed by introduction of sponsors and the presentation of the booth awards.

 

11 a.m. –Weis Markets – Unmistakably Fresh

Are you eating the "101 Foods that Will Save Your Life?" Join internationally-renounced author and nutrition expert David Grotto, R.D., L.D.N., and the Weis dietitians for an entertaining cooking demo featuring ideas on transforming the season's bounty into unique meal solutions with disease-fighting power.

 

Noon - TJ Maxx Fashion Show
Experience some of the latest fashion trends available for the entire family. Models will showcase a variety of fashion options for every taste, all available at TJ Maxx stores.

 

1 p.m. - Keynote Speaker, Susan Shapiro – WGAL News 8

Susan Shapiro, solo anchor of WGAL’s "News 8 at Noon" and member of the "News 8 On Your Side Investigative Team" will deliver the keynote address, highlighting her amazing 30-year career in broadcasting.

 

2 p.m. – MGM Dance Studio
MGM Dance Studio is an energetic, exciting, fun-loving group of performers who dance a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary and musical theatre. Make sure to catch this lively dance performance the whole family will love!

 

3 p.m. - The Girlfriends’ Game
              Sponsored by Lėbo Skin Care Center

Join Joe Black from 98.5 The Peak in a game that tests true friendship. Teams of best friends will show just how much they really know about each other in a fun-filled competition. Winners will take home great prizes! Make sure to register at the 98.5 The Peak booth at the show if you are interested in participating.

 

4 p.m. - York Area Repertoire of Dance Company

This award-winning pre-professional dance company performs at parades, malls and at several competitions each year. Be on hand as the YARD dancers perform a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern and musical theatre dance.

She now uses her talents as a performer to educate others and speak out against domestic violence. In “A Write to Heal™” Lisa will use poems, monologues and music to tell the true stories of domestic violence victims. Don’t miss this powerful performance!

 

2 p.m. – Brittany Opperman

Brittany Opperman, a singer-songwriter from Gettysburg, Pa., is one of the area’s best up-and-coming vocal talents. Brittany sings a variety of country music including hits from today’s top artists and originals and she has been compared to a young Allison Krauss and Jewel. Brittany was a local winner at the 2010 Colgate Country Showdown and a finalist in the 2011 Texaco Country Showdown. She also performs at various local and regional locales. Don’t miss this performance from one of the area’s best new vocal talents. 

 

3 p.m. - Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre - Musical Preview Show
Come out and see a preview of the 2012 upcoming show lineup at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre including “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline,”  “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “9 to 5 The Musical,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Legally Blonde” and “Crazy for You.”  Professional actors from across the country will entertain you with fantastic songs from these great shows from Dutch Apple’s 25th anniversary season.

 

4 p.m. – Innovations Dance Company

Innovations Dance Company is an energetic, exciting, fun-loving group of performers who dance a variety of styles of dance from many different eras of music. They have performed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Universal Studios Orlando, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parades, Hershey Park, the Philadelphia 76ers pre-game show and many other venues.  Your entire family is sure to love this lively dance performance!

Enjoy a high-energy dance performance featuring award-winning individual and group routines of classical ballet, jazz, contemporary and hip hop.

 

11 a.m. – Psy-dentical Twins – Between Two Worlds: Speaking to Spirits

Meet Allyson Walsh and Adele Nichols, the Psy-dentical Twin sisters. The psychic sisters have appeared on television and international radio and will briefly speak about how they came to their abilities. Attendees may even hear from loved ones, friends and guides by name, along with a message from the other side.

Anne Grimes from Harvest Time Foods will demonstrate how to make a simple chicken pot pie dish your whole family will enjoy. Audience members will receive free samples at the conclusion of the demonstration and several members of the audience will also win prizes.

 

2 p.m. – Weis Markets – Quick Meal Solutions

Join Weis Markets’ Regina McCartney-Mackay to learn how to prepare quick and easy meals that taste great! Regina will demonstrate simple recipes that you can duplicate at home. Free samples of each meal will be available to try. Lucky winners will take home some great prizes at the end of the seminar.

 

3 p.m. – Oxford School of Performing Arts

Oxford School of Performing Arts is an energetic, exciting, fun-loving group of performers who dance to a variety of music. A hit at the 2010 Women’s Show, they are back this year by popular demand. Don’t miss this lively dance performance the whole family will love!

 

4 p.m. – Penn State York – Blue, White and WOW – Penn State Fashions

Penn State York students don their blue and white and show their Penn State pride with fashions from the Penn State York Bookstore. Roar with the Nittany Lion and be a part of Penn State!

Noon – In the Pink Belly Dancers

October is breast cancer awareness month and the Women’s Show would like to kick it off with some high-energy entertainment. Join Central PA’s cancer survivor belly dance troupe, In the Pink, as they share the joys of music, dance, friendship and love of life through the beauty of belly dance. These experienced dancers are sure to impress young and old alike.

 

1 p.m. Weis Markets – Floral Decorating for the Season

Linda Bair from Weis Markets’ floral department will show you how to decorate your home for the fall season using fresh flowers. Learn fun, colorful ways to brighten your house. Prizes will be given away at the end of the presentation.

 

2 p.m. 3-Every-Day® of Dairy – Power Up Your Diet: One More for Better Health

Do you find nutrition confusing? Should you be eating local,  buying organic and avoiding salt? Do you think healthy foods taste a lot like cardboard? Registered dietitian Isabel Maples will be on hand to teach you how to cut through the nutrition clutter with four nutrition shortcuts and show you which food choices have been proven to lead to better health. Learn how eating more can help you eat better and see how one easy change can add up to big benefits for your family’s health.

 

3 p.m. – Weis Markets Holiday Entertaining at Home

Inspire your creative side and join Weis Markets' Andrew Lookenbill as he demonstrates fun holiday dessert ideas. Volunteers will help decorate a gingerbread village and learn how to make Rice Krispies® pops as a fun family snack. At the end of the seminar, several lucky winners will take home some great prizes. Holiday desserts have never been so easy!

 

4 p.m. – Zumba Party by the YWCA of York

Welcome to the party – a Zumba party! The YWCA of York returns by popular demand to demonstrate Zumba, the fitness craze that’s sweeping the nation. Zumba fitness fuses hypnotic musical rhythms and tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout that is fun and easy to do. Dance along to this high-energy demonstration as the performers salsa, mambo and samba to an upbeat Latin rhythm.
