10 a.m. – Awards Ceremony

The Awards Ceremony begins with a check presentation to York County Libraries, and is followed by introduction of sponsors and the presentation of the booth awards.

 

11 a.m. – Innovations – Darleen Paddison’s Dance Studio

Innovations Dance Company is an energetic, exciting, fun-loving group of performers who dance to a variety of music from the 1950s to the present. They have performed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Universal Studios Orlando, Hershey Park, the Philadelphia 76ers pregame show, and many other venues.  Your entire family is sure to love this lively dance performance!

 

Noon – Harley-Davidson Fashion Show

A Women’s Show tradition! Experience the leathers, riding gear, apparel and accessories from Harley-Davidson MotorclothesŪ. See Laugerman’s Harley-Davidson employees and customers stroll the runway as they model the latest fashions.

 

1 p.m. – Keynote Speaker, Janelle Stelson – WGAL News 8

Janelle Stelson, co-anchor of "News 8 at 5:30" and "News 8 at 11," will deliver the keynote address, highlighting her experiences in television broadcasting. 

 

2 p.m. – Diane Wilson – PA State Senior Idol Winner

Harrisburg native Diane Wilson has been singing all of her life, whether for a private show for her family, a performance for a church or club, or just a song for a friend in need. The latest title added to her resume was 2007 PA State Senior Idol. A hit at the 2007 Women’s Show, don’t miss this soulful, gospel-tinged performance.

 

3 p.m. – What’s Cooking With Weis at HACC? – Weis Markets
Chef Jeffrey Stermer, Principal Instructor for HACC Lancaster Campus Cooking School, will prepare a recipe from one of the new cooking classes sponsored by Weis Markets at HACC.  He will prepare Chicken and Shrimp Etouffee.  Samples of this wonderful gourmet creation will be handed out at the end of the presentation.

 

4 p.m. – T.J. Maxx Fashion Show
Experience some of the latest fashion trends available for modern women. Models will show a variety of fashion options for every woman’s taste, all available at T.J. Maxx stores.

1 p.m. – Sherri Mullen

Sherri Mullen began to play piano at the age of 10, and studied classical music for more than eight years.  Country, adult contemporary, and pop music fans alike have embraced her.  Sherri’s three CDs deliver compelling lyrics, powerful vocals, and passionate performances that make her shine.  Don’t miss this multi-award-winning artist in an unbelievable performance.

 

2 p.m. – Dancers of the Nile

Dancers of the Nile, a Middle Eastern dance troupe, has entertained at many local functions and strives to educate audiences on the ethnic beauty of dance.  The dancers use props such as canes, swords, zills, skirts, and veils while performing the many body movements common to the dance.  A hit at the 2007 Women’s Show, these impressive dancers are sure to once again entertain young and old alike.

 

3 p.m. – Abby Snook, York County Junior Miss

Abby Snook has been studying vocal performance for 11 years, and has performed in more than 35 different shows.  In May, she was named York County’s Junior Miss.  Join Abby as she performs and discusses her experiences as the reigning York County Junior Miss.

 

4 p.m. – Hanover School of Ballet

This award-winning ballet company has performed throughout the United States and 12 foreign countries, including the People’s Republic of China. Be on hand for this energetic performance of song and dance.

10 a.m. - My Big Fat Greek Baklava - The Baklava Goddess

Discover everything you ever wanted to know about baklava, but were afraid to ask! Join Anna Skamangas as she discusses the history and the business of this traditional Greek dessert, as well as how to start and grow your own pastry business.  Audience participation and tasty free samples will make this a presentation you won’t want to miss!

 

11 a.m. – Power Up Your Meals in Five Easy Steps - Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association

Concerned that you and your family don’t always eat right?  Dawn Clausing, registered dietitian with Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, will show you how to power up your meals and snacks with familiar foods that pack in more nutrition.  Stop by to find out how to take advantage of the energy and health benefits linked with better eating!

Noon – Cake Decoration with Weis Markets
Make your next cake one to remember! Join Chris Houwen, certified Master Cake Decorator, for an enjoyable, informative lesson on cake decorating.  Participants will also learn about the new cakes available at Weis Markets Bakery.

2 p.m. – Soup: The Warmth of Winter & The Cool of Summer – Memorial Hospital

Filling the home with fragrant aromas, soups are quick, easy, colorful, nutritious one-pot meals.  Discover the history, the healthiness, and the numerous varieties of soups.  Enjoy savory samples and a collection of healthy soup recipes with Jane Alleman, Manager of Memorial Hospital Food Services.

 

3 p.m. – Marion Winik Live!

With her trademark candor and wit, Glen Rock resident Marion Winik will share stories from her soon-to-be-released book, “The Glen Rock Book of the Dead,” a 21st century creative narrative in the style of Edgar Lee Masters’ “Spoon River Anthology.”  Come share in the fun and be the first to hear her new tales during this special pre-release event. 

 

4 p.m. – York Area Repertoire of Dance
The York Area Repertoire of Dance Studio's students have received numerous awards, participated in group and individual competitions, and performed in a variety of public arenas. Some students have even continued their dance careers with college dance scholarships.  Don’t miss these talented students in a fun-filled presentation.

Dr. Beth DuPree says that “whatever it takes to help a person find healing and peace within should be an integral part of their treatment process.”  Her book, entitled “The Healing Consciousness: A Doctor’s Journey to Healing,” is the true story of her journey as a surgeon who awakened to the healer that resides within her. Don’t miss this York native as she discusses her life, her experiences and her book.
