Marcia Feehan, Memorial Hospital
Marcia
Feehan, the emergency department nurse manager at Memorial Hospital was
named “Nurse of the Year” during the Healthcare Heroes awards breakfast
last month at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg. Healthcare Heroes is an
annual awards competition sponsored by “Central Penn Parent” that was
designed to recognize central Pennsylvania’s outstanding physicians,
nurses, volunteers and organizations making a difference in health care.
Marcia
was named “Nurse of the Year” for her work in developing three programs:
music therapy for emergency room patients, the Physician in Triage
program and FastER, designed to limit time delays in emergency medical
treatment.
"I feel
grateful and humbled to receive such an amazing reward, and I want to do
more for my community, to influence people in a positive way by serving
them or educating them," Marcia stated.
The
Women’s Show congratulates Marcia on this outstanding honor.
